Otoplasty or correction of prominent ears
The forward position of the ear (pinna) can effect one or both ears. Professor Deva performs an otoplasty utilising a hidden incision behind the ear. A combination of cartilage sculpting and sutures are used to set the ears back to a more natural position.
This procedure is performed as a day procedure but does require both ears to be protected with a head bandage for a week. Following this, a soft headband is used for 2-3 weeks to protect the repair.
