Gynaecomastia

Enlargement of breast tissue in the male is termed gynaecomastia. It can occur during puberty but in some men, the breast tissue persists and is a cause of considerable embarassment.

Professor Deva utilises a combination of surgical excision of breast tissue via a minimal incision around the nipple combined with liposuction of the chest wall. In some cases, liposuction alone may be sufficient.

The procedure is performed as a day only case and compression garments are worn for 4-6 weeks following surgery to diminish swelling and bruising and encourage loose skin to contract.
